Vascular Surgery

Juris Medicus has board-certified vascular surgeons who are fellowship trained in both peripheral vascular and cardiovascular interventions.

Vascular surgeons are experts in diagnosing and treating diseases and other problems affecting blood circulation. Common symptoms of peripheral vascular disease may include leg pain when walking; discoloration, swelling, numbness, or weakness of the arms or legs; skin wounds that do not heal or heal slowly; pale or bluish skin; and lack of leg hair or toenail growth. Treatment for vascular diseases can involve medication and regular exercise or surgical procedures like angioplasty, stenting, and bypass which help improve vessel blood flow. Vascular surgeons can also assist in transplant surgeries where donor organs can be connected to a recipient’s blood supply. They may also be consulted for surgical procedures required to create vessel access for chronic dialysis patients.
