Juris Medicus has a fellowship trained neonatologist who is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Neonatologists are pediatricians who are specially trained to care for newborns with complex or life-threatening conditions. These specialists may be involved prior to and during birth if the fetus is diagnosed with a disability or disease or when the birth is considered high risk, such as when a baby is born prematurely. Sepsis, fetal distress, heart conditions, jaundice, respiratory distress syndrome, feeding problems, anemia, and apnea are common conditions neonatologists treat. Typically, these specialists work in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) where 24-hour care is provided to the newborns. Neonatologists work to diagnose and treat their newborn patients so they can safely leave the NICU and thrive with their family.
