Lymphedema
Juris Medicus has an expert who specializes in the treatment of lymphedema, especially following reconstructive plastic surgery.
Lymphedema or lymphatic obstruction is usually a long-term condition where excess lymph fluid collects or accumulates causing swelling (edema). This swelling is commonly observed in the arms and legs but may also appear in the head, genitals, or chest. Primary lymphedema is caused by a genetic mutation. Secondary lymphedema can be caused by infections, inflammatory diseases, surgery, or radiation therapy. Although not curable, lymphedema can be treated to help reduce swelling, pain, and the risk of further infection.
