A disability rating is a doctor’s judgement on the severity of an injury. Given in percentages, this rating is used to determine the amount of compensation an individual may receive for an injury. The disability rating represents a percentage of the injured body part(s) in relation to the full body’s value. It is typically assigned in increments ranging from 0% to 100% and can translate into no disability, temporary partial disability, permanent partial disability, or permanent total disability.
